St Matthew’s Tower

We warmly welcome new members to join us at our weekly practice on a Wednesday evening between 7pm and 9pm once a month.

The aim of the tower is to ring the bells for Sunday Services and especially the principal festivals of Easter, Christmas and our Patronal Festival and at Harvest – continuing the ancient tradition of ‘calling people to worship’.

Officially the tower is known as St Matthew’s Company of Church Bell Ringers. It was established in 1904, following the gifting of the bells to St Matthews by Mary Drew, wife of the Rev’d Harry Drew.
